 What to Expect

  • The Interaction: Once you enter, staff will provide you with a skewer of apple slices.  

  • The "Foodies": These little guys will have their eyes fixed on you—or more accurately, on that apple in your hand!  

  • Feeding Tip: Just crouch down and feed them directly.  

  • Safety First: Avoid teasing them or holding the food out of reach just for a photo; red pandas have very sharp claws!  

  • Photo Ops: While the feeding goes by fast, you’ll still have plenty of time to watch them wander around and snap some great candid photos.  


Wait Times & Tips

  • Crowds: Expect long lines on weekends, though groups move through quite steadily.  

  • Interaction time: 12:00 - 15:00. If you arrive early, there is no need to rush straight to the red pandas. Instead, take some time to explore the areas for flamingos, brown bears, raccoons, and Ring-tailed Lemur Island first. These spots also offer their own fun interactive experiences that are well worth the visit.  

  • Look Up: Keep an eye on the overhead walkways while you wait—you might spot a red panda taking a stroll right above your head!

  • Adult Tickets: 190 RMB per person.  

  • Child Tickets: 95 RMB per person.  

  • Red Panda Interaction: 30 RMB for 10 minutes.

The Shanghai Wild Animal Park is located about a 1-hour drive from downtown Shanghai.

You can start by taking Metro Line 16 to the Shanghai Wild Animal Park Station. From there, it is just a quick 6-minute taxi ride to the main entrance of the park.
