Shanghai: Museum's 'Meow' Night at Shanghai musuem

In ancient Egypt, the cat god Bastet was regarded as a symbol of protection and spirituality. The worship of the cat god by the Egyptians transcended the boundaries of time and space, and coincided with the current love for "cat people".

To complement this exhibition, the Shanghai Museum will hold regular "Museum's 'Meow' Night" events, with the first event scheduled for the evening of July 27th (held every Saturday night for a total of 10 events). Visitors are welcome to bring their cats to the exhibition - this is the first of its kind among comprehensive museums worldwide.

While visiting the exhibition, visitors can take photos with their beloved pets in the cat temple area specially set up in the "Secrets of Saqqara" exhibition hall, and can also experience the "Pet Traveling in Egypt Exhibition", "Photo Shooting with Giant Cat Sculptures", "Cat Paw Interaction" and "Cat Paw Messages" programs.

To ensure the smooth progress of the event, Shanghai Museum has purchased an activity insurance for each audience of the "Meow" Night and specially invited qualified surgeons to be on-site to handle unexpected incidents. In addition, it has cooperated with experienced professional pet medical institutions to arrange for the presence of licensed veterinarians and pet cat medical service vehicles outside the museum for emergency treatment.The staff in the museum will receive professional training on pet cats, and the operation will be assisted by personnel from the pet industry.In addition, the museum also provides cat-friendly devices, cat storage areas, cat mood stabilizers, and cat carts and other intimate services.After each event, the entire museum will undergo thorough disinfection, sterilization, and deodorization to ensure normal opening for the next day.
