Plan Your Visit Around the Weather

The climate in Dali is generally mild, but the scenery varies with the seasons. Generally, spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) are ideal times to visit.🌸

The Max/Min/Average Temperature Diagram of Dali
The Max/Min/Average Temperature Diagram of Dali
  • Spring: The weather warms up and flowers are in full bloom, especially the rapeseed flowers and cherry blossoms by Erhai Lake, making it perfect for photography. The temperature is moderate, suitable for outdoor activities such as cycling around the lake or hiking in Cangshan.

  • Autumn: The sky is clear, the climate is cool, rainfall is low, and visibility is wide, making it a good time for photography and leisure trips. During these two seasons, there are fewer tourists, and accommodation and transport are easier to arrange.

  • Summer (June to August) is cool but coincides with the rainy season, so there may be showers that affect travel plans; winter (December to February) is cold but sunny, ideal for those who enjoy tranquility.

Overall, if you want to avoid the peak season, late spring and early autumn are great choices.
