Suggested Guilin and Yangshuo itineraries

Guilin and Yangshuo offer some of China’s most iconic karst landscapes. Here are the best ways to explore the region based on your schedule.

Suggested full-day schedules

If you only have one day, focus on the highlights of Yangshuo. Begin your morning with a hike up Xianggong Hill for a panoramic view of the Li River. In the afternoon, enjoy a traditional Yulong River Bamboo Rafting experience, followed by a bike ride through the Ten-Mile Gallery or a walk along the Yulong River Hiking Path to see the local countryside.

Suggested 2-day schedules

For a two-day trip, we recommend combining the Longji Rice Terraces with Yangshuo. Spend your first day exploring the terraces, which are best visited between late April and mid-October. You can find more details in our Longji Rice Terraces: The Simple and Ultimate Guide. On the second day, return to Yangshuo to follow the one-day rafting and hiking highlights mentioned above.

Suggested 3-day schedules

If you have three days, you can choose a pace that suits you. For a more relaxed experience, follow our Guilin and Yangshuo 3-Day Trip which focuses on the classic scenery of both areas. Alternatively, you can include the rice terraces by following our Guilin Yangshuo Longji 3-Day Tour for a comprehensive look at the region’s natural and cultural landmarks.

Food & Local Tips

Beyond the scenery, Yangshuo offers excellent dining and coffee options.
